Navigating Epilepsy: The Road Ahead

American Epilepsy Society meeting coming up!

The American Epilepsy Society (AES) is hosting its annual meeting – the 68th Annual meeting – at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. The meeting will be held from December 5-9, 2014 and is expected to be attended by more than 5000 experts in the field of epilepsy and seizure-related disorders. What makes annual AES meetings unique is that it is attended by neurologists, basic scientist, neurosurgeons and social workers. Although intense, the meeting is extremely informative – posters, talks, symposia are organized to bring to the audience latest, cutting-edge research in epilepsy.

In addition to talks about epilepsy in the lab and in the clinic, there will be silent auctions to raise money for people with epilepsy. Non-profit organizations like CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy), the Anita Kaufmann Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation and Dravet Syndrome Foundation will be present to share with the audience information about their organizations and ways to get involved. Check out the AES website to get more information about the organization and the meeting, and come back to this website for relevant  and new topics on how you can navigate epilepsy.
